D-Link Rounds Out Managed Switch Portfolio with DXS-3600 Launch

Layer 3 10Gb/s family of 1U switches delivers flexible, modular and affordable networking in a range of scenarios

2013/01/17

D-Link has unveiled the latest addition to its range of 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches designed to help meet the rigorous requirements of the modern network environment, across multiple areas. These include top-of-rack deployments within small and medium data centers, enterprise and campus aggregation network environments and storage attached network interfaces.

The new DXS-3600 10GbE L2/L3 Switch family boasts wired-speed 10-Gigabit Ethernet switching, routing and very low latency, packed into a compact 1U modular design that ensures flexibility, scalability and reliability. The switches have 24 fixed 10 GbE SFP+ ports, with an expansion module for adding extra ports or other connectivity options including stacking, optical interfaces or 10G Base-T connections, depending on application.

Redundant and hot swappable power supplies and fan trays, guarantee high availability, while a range of energy efficiency features such as selectable air-flow, port sensing and smart fan control ensure power draw is kept to a minimum. Combined with versatile management functions and comprehensive security features for connectivity and access control, network access and performance is assured.

The DXS-3600 family is very aggressively priced at the entry level of the market. This, combined with the inherently modular and scalable design, helps to future-proof customer networks, giving them a low-cost of entry with the ability to upgrade features and functionality through expansion modules, software images and firmware updates in the future, as their requirements evolve.

"This series of next generation Layer 3 Gigabit switches is the final piece of the puzzle that allows us to deliver performance, flexibility, security, multi-layer quality of service and access across the entire network," said [INSERT NAME, TITLE].

"The DXS-3600 family is designed to slot perfectly into a range of scenarios, whether that be as departmental access layer devices or core switches to form a multi-level network structure with high-speed backbone and centralized servers. This range delivers all the core functionality a customer would expect, and then we will exceed those expectations with a host of new software and hardware based features in the months to come."

Pricing and Availability:

The D-Link DXS-3600 family is available from April 2012 through the company's broad network of reseller partners, with a suggested retail price of between ### and ### depending on model.
